Gorean role-play is based in Medieval time with many different playable roles such as Slaves, Outlaws, Healers & Warriors. You can raid opposing camps and set them on fire. The Gorean meter, which is the backbone of Gorean combat, is very advanced with many options to choose from giving you full control over your game play. The classic game mode capture the flag is also part of Gorean role-play. But one of the things I find most impressive about the Gorean community, is the sims that host Gor role-play, are lovely and so much time has been put into the scenery, there are houses and taverns, but the camps are built to last, they are built to defend!

Gorean role-play is filled with action and things to do. Because there are lots of sims hosting Gor RP, it's very easy to get started with. And if you don't like the role-play in one sim you can always move onto another and give that a try.

There are, as mentioned, many different roles in Gorean role-play, I will tell you a little bit about the most common roles, so you can get a grasp of what the possibilities are, and maybe choose what role you will be playing yourself.

Slave
Slaves can be captured and are often subject to torture. If they choose to they can submit freely to you, so you own them they follow all your commands.

Panther
Panthers are the alternative role to slaves. They are very protective of there land and will attack.

Outlaw
Outlaws is maybe the most commonly played role. They are thieves, also very protective of there land and raid a lot.

Warrior
Warriors are very honorable and fight for their city when commanded to. They will usually attack if threatened, but are not aggressors.

Black caste/Assassin
The Black Castes are a group of stealthy assassins who take bounties up on people. They have to be able to get around undetected

To join any of these roles you will have to talk to a Group leader. The best way to find out who the leader is is to just IM people to get a leaders name. Some groups require applications.Most people in Gor are firendly and it's no hastle at all to get started with.

To get started there are a couple of things that you need.

First off is ofcourse a Gorean meter. Gorean meters are free and can be found at nearly all Gorean sims. To find a sim to play in, and also meet other players, I can recommend 'The Gor Hub'. An entire sim dedicated to listing Gorean role-play related sims and events. There are lots of other players there, so it's a great way to get introduced to the world, and maybe make some new friends.

Next you'll need some clothing, Gorean clothing is required in almost every sim, and you will be told so if you go without. You can get slaves or peasant clothing, or a full body armor.

You will need a weapons to defend yourself and keep from getting captured and tortured. The most commonly used weapon are bows, but you can also yield a broadsword or throw stones if you wish.

Ofcourse there are tons of Gorean accessories available all around the grid, but for now I will just point you to two places that can provide what you need to get started.
