Exploring Gor episode 1

Blogs - Second Travels

About the authorMy name is Rhotis Paine I'm a veteran Second Life resident for more than two years.  I am a long time SL explore,  writer, builder and Gorean role player.

Welcome to my new series Exploring Gor.
With this series I will take you through some of the lands of Gor and hope to give you an inkling of what is out there and how the different sims  encompass the vast realm. The first I will take you to is the Port of Ironhall. The first thing you need to know is it is not typical of what you will find in many Gorean sims in SecondLife.  Ironhall is one of the few sims that exists in the north. Northern Gor is vastly different in most places then that in the middle and south of Gor.

Norther Gor follows more a modified Viking lore then the stone cities or tropical islands in the rest of Gor.  Now for Ironhall itself the key interest here is role play and that role play does not have to consist of shooting prim arrows at each other.  It is Gor so there is combat that can and will take place but the sim is centered more around the lives those would live within Gor.  Interaction between people whether it be the bonds and the Jarls,  the free woman ,  the various occupations,  the differing religion that breaks away from the south's divination of the priest kings.  The people in Ironhall OOC'ly are among the friendliest I have ever met and want to get you involved in the world they have created within the realm of Gor.  The build is absolutely fantastic and embodies what I always pictured the north to look like.  The long hall itself is nearly exactly would I would expect should Gor exist.    If you are interested in the realm of Gor take a ship to Ironhall and see how it differs from much of what you may have come accustomed too within Gor in SecondLife.  Remember though Gor is a mature world.  Most Gor sims are rated adult.  You will encounter nudity and content of a violent, as well as sexual nature.
