Residents are given a private folder to hold their media files, plus a journal 'frontpage' bearing their own title and description. Journals also introduces a new profile application, to show off your latest journal entries to all who visit your profile.

How will this affect the main blogs?

Positively we assume :) Journals will give residents with less writing experience a chance to learn and those of us who hasn't written anything longer than 140 chars (damn twitter!!) for the past couple of years will get a chance to brush up on our skills.

We'll continue to accept and publish submissions as before, accepted submission will be paid for. So yup, that's all there is to say for now, other than;
